I don’t care for awards. I think they are always rigged. This comes from my disgust in the Mercury Music Prize. Music experts?! Sure……
Anyway, here are the nominations for this years Brit Awards :

Paolo Nutini < PLEASE WIN!
British Female Solo Artist
Bat For Lashes
Florence And The Machine <Should win, of course. But if she doesn’t..please let Bat For Lashes win!
British Breakthrough Act
Florence And The Machine <If Flo or La Roux win, it’ll be okay.
Kasabian <No competiton really. They should win. Yes, I do hate JLS.

International Male Solo Artist
Seasick Steve< I love this guy. I’d like either him or Jay to win. Moreso Steve.
International Female Solo Artist < As long as Rihanna or Shakira don’t win..it’ll be alright. If those two weren’t nominated it’d actually be friggin’ decent.
International Breakthrough Act
Empire of the Sun
Lady Gaga< Based on the line “Bluffin’ with my muffin.” She should get it. I do love GaGa. She’s different. She’s true to her art. Her vocals are amazing. Disagree? Go listen to her perform Speechless live. It’s on YouTube.
International Album < So long as Black Eyed Peas don’t win, it’s cool.
Animal Collective – ‘Merriweather Post Pavilion’
Black Eyed Peas – ‘The E.N.D.’
Empire of the Sun – ‘Walking On A Dream’
Jay-Z – ‘The Blueprint 3’
Lady Gaga – ‘The Fame’
BRITs Performance Of 30 Years < I want Bros to win, just because it’d be funny. But we all know it’ll go to Michael Jackson just because he’s dead.

And of course, Ellie Goulding is the winner of The Critics Choice Award 2010. Flo won it last year, now Ellie this year. I am utterly pleased with this. I will probably cry when she comes on stage to collect the award. I do hope Flo wins something, she has to. If she does, I’d very much like her to repeat the speech she made last year. Something along the lines of “FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK” then at the end she said, “I’m going to get drunk now.” God bless her. I will cry if she wins anything, I really will. You know I’ve loved her since that amazing clip of her and Lightspeed Champion on YouTube of them singing in his kitchen back in 2007. It’s been love since then..and to see someone you just love and adore their talent become a double platinum album selling artist..it’s just a beautiful thing. I know I don’t her haha, but Lungs means a lot. And, Dog Days Are Over has given me the courage to move away from where I live. I’m packing up my shit and I’m going. Lungs got me through a breakup, I’ve made some amazing friends through mutual love of Florence..I have so many memories with this album. And to see it do so well..just makes me happy and have faith in the music industry again.
Right, I’ve rambled and I sound strange!
