Ellie On Woman’s Hour.
About 17 minutes in, there is a lovely interview with Ellie on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. She also performed Guns And Horses acoustically, yes-it is gorgeous. This is wonderful, honest interview.
Ellie Goulding-Lights.
The album opens with a different version of Guns And Horses. When I first heard it, I didn’t like it. But, I played it a few more times and adored it. I’ve heard the demos of most of the tracks on the album, but hearing the Lights version of them all may upset some people that want Ellie to just sing with a guitar and have no electro sounds on the album. But before you judge it, give it a listen. Sit down with some headphones on and you will hear one of the most beautifullest albums ever.
I know I said all this about Florence but Lights is as amazing as Lungs. It really is. I’m not just saying it because I love Ellie but there is no fault at all on this album. No album fillers. Just good, honest music. Her lyrics are gorgeous and you can feel that she feels every word. We need more honest singers and luckily there are some decent ones around.
I know that this is a poor excuse for a review haha but, I just want to make it clear that this album, is stunning. I don’t want to write a review like you’d read in a magazine. I’m writing it as a fan that has been a fan of Ellie’s since the start of last year and has waited forever for this album. If the album is number 1 on Sunday I’m going to get drunk.Okay I don’t need a reason but y’know!
Hopefully This Love will be the next single. There’s something about it that has “NUMBER 1” written all over it.
I could honestly ramble on about the excellence of this album, but if you have it-you’ll already know this. If you don’t have it, most record shops are open until half 5 so off you go and buy it!

THREE THINGS.
1-KEEP BUYING STARRY EYED. It’s now Sunday..so it’ll chart TODAY. But keep buying it! HMV…iTunes…WHEREVER. BUY IT. So far, it’s the best single to come out this year. But y’know if she releases This Love (Will Be Your Downfall) as a single…which some are saying is the next one, then that’ll be the best single of the year. Along with a billion others that I’ll regard as SONG OF THE YEAR! Wooooooahhh….slight ramble there. I need sleep.
2- Ellie will be on Alan Carr’s show 10pm. Channel 4. THIS Thursday…that’s the 4th I think! More than likely performing Starry Eyed. Oh when she uses the drum after the second chorus and..yeah, I don’t need to continue. BUT IT’S FRIGGIN’ BEAUTIFUL.

I didn’t watch the Brits last night as I was drunk somewhere. BUT, Flo got Best Album…I got drunk in celebration for her haha 🙂
Ellie Goulding is putting out a vinyl EP kind of thing which is going to be AMAZING!
I haven’t seen her or Flo’s speech from last night, I really want to!
I’ve developed an (unhealthy) diet of Super Noodles. It’s not going to end well is it.

Some things…..
Cold Cave are playing a few dates in England in May. I’d go to the Manchester one but….it’s the same night as Florence. I can’t miss Florence oh no!
There’s a Marina & The Diamonds tour in May too.
The gorge Ellie Goulding is doing a few dates in June.
Oh, and The Strokes are recording for the new album!!! Also Garbage may be doing some new tracks/album!!!

Aside from watching the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs video, I just found these BEAUTIFUL acoustic versions of Starry Eyed and Under The Sheets. If you think Ellie is overhyped, then you are wrong. There’s no hype here. Hype surrounds those who don’t deserve it. This is called recognising real, pure talent.
I can’t wait to see her in March!
