Today, the legend…the goddess that is Patti Smith is 63. The wisest woman in music. A great human being. Just friggin’ awesome really.

Patti Smith-Horses And Hey Joe.

I’m sure you don’t want to know anything about my personal life (I went to a party last night, was rather good..if you were there- HELLO!) but, for the past few weeks..maybe just over a month I’ve only been sleeping for about 4 hours. It’s quite possibly starting to get to me, thus..I’m starting to feel quite rough/arsey/annoyed. However, I’ve re-discovered one of the greatest songs to have ever existed sang by one of the most wonderful,talented women in the world.

It’s Because The Night by the one and only Patti Smith. It is such a beautiful song from start to finish. This one clip in particular (Jools Holland…2006? I think?) just hit me in the gut (or it could be the pizza I had..who knows, I’ll go with Patti!) and I honestly haven’t heard something as beautiful and delicate as this song in a long time.
