Leah Mason.

She deserves a post due to being bloody amazing.

Last Tuesday she supported Ellie Goulding in Manchester. I won’t lie, it was beautiful. She’s beautiful. Girls with guitars usually are (yes there are a lot of exceptions, I won’t say any names) But Leah Mason is just stunning. Everything about her is just..go see her live, you’ll know what I mean. She kills the guitar, she plays the shit out of it. The venue holds about I reckon…500? Maybe more/less. Either way she controlled that crowd as if she was headlining. That’s when you know you are watching something special.

I cannot find anyone to compare Leah Mason to. You know why? Because she’s different. She really is. I know it’s been said before about others, but it’s true. Just because she plays the guitar doesn’t mean she’s like Ellie Goulding or just because she has a stunning voice doesn’t mean she’s like Cat Power. She’s just as amazing, but she’s not like them. And that’s why I hope she becomes well known. She’s different but no doubt the press will find someone for her to be compared to without giving her a listen.

Her MySpace page only has 2 tracks on at the moment, and it does leave you wanting to hear more. You find yourself playing them over and over again(I’m probably part responsible for the amount of plays they get…not even sorry!) and YouTube has next to nothing of hers on there. Which is why listening to her music is so special. There’s not much of her stuff out there, which is why you treasure it more.
